WHAT CAN THEY OFFER ?

In addition to providing regular concerts, Sweet Seven can turn up to liven up any event, private (parties, birthdays, weddings or corporate functions) or public (official openings, conferences, cultural events..) The program and the length of Sweet Seven participation can be adjusted to meet your needs, according to the event, the location and the number of spectators. They will adjust the program to your specification.

The group is independent and comes with its own sound systems, microphones, mixers etc and can appear as separate groups if required: the Sweet Ladies (a female vocal quartet) or the Sweet Rhythm Boys (a male vocal quartet).

Sweet Seven offers a varied repertoire of music from jazz to pop including swing and songs from the most popular musicals. From upbeat and fun to tender and sentimental, the group gently guides the mood of the evening with melodies from the Beatles through the jazz standards of the forties to the great French classics of Claude Nougaro or William Sheller).

BRIGITTE DELÉPINE

Choir Master

Brigitte studied piano, harp and the history of art at Lille conservatoire. She qualified with a degree in musicology from the Sorbonne in Paris and a master’s degree in musical pedagogy from Stanford University (U.S.A.) She went on to teach music in California and played harp in three different orchestras for a number of years. It was also there that she discovered the joy of close harmony, Barbershop style, singing and sang in an all girl group called the “Sweet Adelines”.

This unique American experience put its stamp on Brigitte’s musical career and when she returned to France in 1994 she immediately formed several close harmony groups: the choir Harmonie Toot Sweet in Chteauneuf-de-Grasse, which she lead from 1994 till 2010, a ladies ensemble The Sweet Ladies and a mixed quintette called the Quinte de Toot. The quintette will become later a men quartette called The Sweet Rhythm Boys. In 2011, she regrouped the latter two to form SWEET SEVEN.

She applies her energy and dynamism to all the styles of music the group interprets be it Jazz, Close Harmony, Barbershop, Musicals or French Variety. She’s not just looking for quality in the singing, although this is paramount, but combines this with an on-stage choreography which adds an element of theatre to the interpretation of the music and draws the audience in to the sense of the moment.

Brigitte teaches the Celtic harp and, thanks to this, discovered the group “Poussieres d’exil ” in 2003 and the Sepahardic music they play. Brigitte worked with them and the Compagnie Ombres et Voix in Tourettes-sur Loup for three years to compose their accompaniments.

She created and conducted the parochial choir of Notre Dame de la Sagesse (Sophia-Antipolis, Valbonne at Biot) for 16 years and started a Gospel choir there. I n 2013-2014 she was choir master of the Maitrise de la cathedrale Sainte Reparate in Nice.
